Lodge Manager and assistant Do you have a love for hospitality and travel? Do you have a passion for ‘board culture’ and snow? Can you see yourself spending a season in the Japanese snow? Us Moiwa Lodge is located in the Niseko area of Hokkaido, Japan. We provide perfect accommodation for powder hungry skiers and boarders ready to explore Niseko and beyond. Moiwa Lodge offers authentic Japanese accommodation, prime location, and perfect access to the endless ski runs and deep powder of Niseko. Moiwa Lodge is perfect for skiers, snowboarders, families, groups or the individual traveller. This role is a great opportunity for 2 people (a couple is preferable but not vital) with experience in hospitality and catering to work in a young and vibrant lodge environment. The Job We are seeking a Lodge Manager and an Assistant for the 2010/11 Winter season. You will be responsible for providing our clients with a warm, comfortable and hospitality stay, whilst ensuring cleanliness of the lodge, and the safety of all staff and clients. This is a position reporting directly to the lodge owners. Some of the tasks will involve: ¨ Managing the day to day staff and staffing requirements for the lodge ¨ Ordering supplies for lodge as required ¨ Helping in the kitchen with food prep, cooking, clean up, etc. ¨ Organising and assisting where required with room cleaning ¨ Snow clearing and managing lodge maintenance
You The people we are seeking must have high energy, be able to work autonomously and be able to demonstrate some hands on experience in hospitality and service. You will also: ¨ Love the snow and outdoors ¨ Be adaptable and thorough ¨ Have a lively, fun and hard-working demeanour ¨ Have a love of working without too many constraints. ¨ Be able to ‘think outside the square’. ¨ Experience in adventure, snow and travel would be an advantage. ¨ Love variety and are willing to grow and extend your skills in other parts of this vibrant business. ¨ Speak English and Japanese (preferable) ¨ Hold a Japanese passport or Working Visa ¨ Hold an international drivers licence (if not a Japanese national) ¨ Have experience in managing a lodge or similar operation This position will be from December 1 to March 1 (flexible).
